Wolfenstein The New Colossus art.

A new Wolfenstein game is coming out later this month. With anti-Nazi themes currently dominating American discourse, its arrival couldn't have been better timed.

Its publisher, Bethesda, has seen a huge opportunity to market the game politically. It's been using anti-Nazi material for a few months on social media, but today took it to a new level with a Tweet that reads, "Make America Nazi-Free Again". Of course, not everyone is a fan with the marketing direction. Some are annoyed that Bethesda is politicizing the game in a way that feeds into the increasingly popular trend of classifying Trump supporters as Nazis.

Wolfenstein: The New Colossus will release on October 27th, which just so happens to be the same day as Super Mario Odyssey and Assassin's Creed: Origins, and just a week before Call of Duty: WWII. Due to the incredibly stiff competition, you can expect plenty more of this fierce marketing material to emerge.
